Big things are happening at Deer Valley this summer. As part of the resort’s Expanded Excellence initiative, construction is well underway on what will become the largest ski resort expansion in North American history.

Steve Graff, Vice President of Mountain Operations, recently shared an exciting update from the top of the new Deer Valley East Village Gondola at Park Peak. The team is making major progress on key summer projects—including the build-out of 10 new chairlifts, over 100 additional ski runs, and the completion of the East Village Gondola.

Once complete, this transformative expansion will double the size of the resort and elevate the Deer Valley experience for generations to come.

The Canopy by Hilton has topped out, and the building is nearly enclosed. With staffing now underway, it remains on track for a Summer 2026 opening. Meanwhile, Extell has begun major progress on the Village Skier Services facility—laying the foundation for a fully integrated skier experience.

Lot 27, future home of the Four Seasons Resort and Private Residences, has moved from foundational work to vertical construction. All three tower cranes are now in operation with substantial activity on Towers B and C. Tower B—the hotel component featuring 55 residences—is already over 60% sold. Sales continue to reflect strong interest in this ultra-premium offering.

Located steps from the center of the East Village, Cormont at Deer Valley is shaping up to be one of the area’s most dynamic new residential offerings. Buildings 1 and 5—currently under construction—will deliver over 100 thoughtfully designed condominiums along with the primary retail and dining hub for the community.

Sales have been swift, with more than 75% of both buildings already sold or under contract.

Cormont blends refined mountain modern architecture with everyday access to the best of Deer Valley—ski services, retail, restaurants, and recreation. It’s an ideal home base for those looking to experience the vibrancy of East Village living without compromise.

This past winter saw the debut of expanded ski terrain with the Keetley Express, Hoodoo Express, and Aurora lifts. More lift installations and infrastructure improvements—including a 10-million-gallon retention pond and a new snowmaking system—are already in motion for the 2025/26 season.

This spring marked a collaborative effort between Extell and REEF to shape the future of the village’s retail and dining experience, guided by the renowned Murray Twohig. Focus has now shifted to Marina West and the LON parcel—future hubs for workforce housing, commercial services, and regional connection via the SR-319 connector road and McHenry Tunnel.

With every crane lift, trail cut, and residence sold, Deer Valley East is becoming one of the most thoughtfully executed resort expansions in the country.
